the harness
An agent you cannot check is an agent you cannot leave alone. So everything it does is recorded as it happens.
Better models raise the ceiling. The harness is the floor, and it is the same floor whether the brain is the local model on your Mac, a coding agent you already pay for, or an endpoint you own.

faq
An assistant for your computer that keeps its work. You give it a job; an AI agent (Servant's own local one, or one you bring) builds it into real code Servant runs on your Mac, the same way every time. You steer it all from your phone.
The core desktop app is free. Servant Pro is $5 per month billed yearly, or $8 month-to-month and includes the complete Team workspace, tested starter coworkers you can customize, and the phone companion for steering from anywhere.
Yes. Free Servant keeps the raw building blocks open: capabilities, workflows, Calendar, endpoints, webhooks, custom tools, and files on your Mac. You can assemble your own system from them. Pro pays for the tested starter coworkers and the integrated Organization, Board, Gantt, delegation, and work-history experience, plus phone steering. It saves the substantial work of building that operating layer yourself.
Servant ships with its own: Skena, a local agent that runs a small open model entirely on your Mac, free to run, no API bill, private by default. Or bring your own: Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, and more, run in an embedded terminal with your own login. We never proxy your tokens.
Servant keeps a record of the work, not a terminal you have to read. Every plan, tool call, file it touched, question it asked, and check it ran is written down as it happens, with the diff, the command output, or the test result attached, and it survives closing the app. Loops are bounded, repeated no-progress actions are stopped, and when it is blocked or unsure it stops and asks instead of guessing. Secrets are resolved by name at the moment of use, so the model never receives a value and credentials are stripped from the record before it is saved.
The reliability comes from the harness around the model, not the model's size: constrained tools, bounded loops, checks run outside the model, and work that survives a restart. Measured, not asserted: on eight coding tasks it had never seen, the same 27B model on a Mac scored 100 of 100 inside the harness and 75 outside it; the 35B, 100 and 38 (our tasks, our scorer, one Mac, one run; the tables and bounds are at skena.ai/servant/harness). Servant also measures each installed model on your own machine before trusting it with unattended work, and one that fails that check never gets the job. The same harness runs a local model, a coding agent you bring, or an API endpoint you register yourself, which your Mac then calls directly.
Yes, opt-in. Servant can click and type in any app the way you would, and run your own macOS Shortcuts. It's off by default, gated behind macOS permissions you grant, and risky actions still wait for your approval.
Yes. Phone and desktop talk over a secure relay tied to your account; it only moves bytes between them and never runs your code in the cloud. Secrets live in your OS keychain, your data stays in a local database, and Mac permission prompts can be approved from the phone over an end-to-end encrypted screen channel.
Yes, directly inside Servant. Describe a todo app, CRM, or a tool unique to your work; your agent builds a new Custom tab with real local data, capabilities, and workflows behind it, and keeps evolving it as you ask. Because it lives inside Servant, your automations work the same tools and data, no separate app to connect, no integration to maintain.
The companion is coming to the App Store and Google Play, iOS and Android. Create an account to be ready when they land. The desktop app runs on Apple Silicon Macs, macOS 15 or newer.
No. Servant is a normal Mac app, not a developer tool you have to set up. Node, the database, the local AI runtime and its built-in agent all ship inside it, so it works on a Mac that has never had developer tools installed. The one thing it fetches later is the AI model itself, a few GB, the first time you start the local agent.
